Support my March in March

This year I will be taking on March in March to raise vital funds for life-changing mental health treatment for veterans. I will be "Marching" to local war memorials.

Combat Stress is the UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health. For over a century, they've helped former servicemen and women deal with issues like trauma, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Today, they provide support to veterans from every service and every conflict.

Thank you so much for your support and together we march!

Uckfield - Eugene Seghers memorial

Wednesday 13th Mar
Remembering the Belgian WW2 pilot who stopped a V2 landing on the town. Although he succeeded, he died when his spitfire crashed. Years ago I spoke to a man, who as a child, had been sheltering under the kitchen table with his Mum, when he heard the bomb exploding safely away from the town.

Buxted War Memorial

Wednesday 13th Mar
My March for the 9th, took me to Buxted's simple village war memorial where the names of nobles (the late Queen's uncle) are listed with the local farming folk.

Haywards Heath War Memorial

Saturday 2nd Mar
Today's "March" took me to the Haywards Heath War Memorial at one end of Muster Green- an imposing slab of rock with a soberingly long list of names on each side.  At the other, I found a board, explaining that this place was the site of the Battle of Haywards Heath, which took place in December 1642 during the Civil War.
