Taking on March in March for Combat Stress 2024!

This year, with a local group, I'm proudly participating in March in March, walking (Me running !..not a chance) 10 miles through Witham, Essex, while carrying a 15kg backpack. It's going to be a challenging mix of on and off-road terrain, but the cause makes every step worth it.

Why Combat Stress? Because they're the UK's leading veterans' mental health charity, providing life-changing support to former servicemen and women for over a century. They help veterans deal with issues like trauma, anxiety, depression, and PTSD, ensuring they get the resources they need to thrive.

I'm taking on this challenge to raise vital funds for Combat Stress and help take those vital steps towards ensuring all veterans have access to the mental health support they deserve.

This is my first time attempting such an event, and I couldn't do it without your support! Every donation, big or small, makes a difference. Together, we march for our veterans!

COMBAT STRESS - 
10 Miles, Carrying 15Kg Bergen, time 3hr:31

Tough course selected by our organiser, lots of steep 
hills and cross country parts.

3 teams:
Runners :     1Hr  54mins
Run/Walkers:  2Hrs 26mins
Walkers:      3hrs 31mins (my group)

I did 89 miles of training over 24 days, which consisted of 
3miles, 5miles, 7miles and a 10 miler.  Loads of blisters

but we did it, my boy literally got out out of bed and did
it, one blister. How I wish I was young again :)

Just wanted to say thank you so much for your donations
and confidence in me. Donation for me exceed £1800 and our
group will have raised coming on to £11K.

My donations put me 3rd in the UK for individuals and our
Group was No.1

This week I've been walking during my lunch breaks for training, been a bit of an on / off week weather wise, but I'm happy with my progress. Next at the weekend, going out with the Bergen on packed with 16K to see how that goes.
