Support my challenge
I am running the London Marathon for Combat Stress because of the life-changing impact they have had on my life.
I served in the British Army for 12 years and was medically discharged with PTSD. Following my discharge, I received treatment and support from Combat Stress for more than two years. Their care played a vital role in my recovery, helping me rebuild my confidence, my purpose and my life.
Since leaving the Army, I have continued to challenge myself both physically and mentally. Strongman became an important part of my recovery, giving me structure and focus. It led me to compete at a high level, reaching the finals of the UK’s Strongest Man and Scotland’s Strongest Man competitions. Along the way, I also experienced setbacks, including a torn bicep that brought my strongman career to an end. Rather than letting that define me, I chose to find a new challenge.
The London Marathon is that challenge.
Every mile I run is my way of giving something back to the charity that stood beside me during one of the darkest periods of my life. I want to help ensure that other veterans facing similar battles can receive the same support, treatment and hope that Combat Stress gave me.
If you’d like to support me, every donation, no matter how big or small it will make a real difference to veterans who need it most.
