Village March Crawl

Hi everyone! The quality of care of our veterans has always bothered me. But after a vet with PTSD was asking around locally, not for a place to stay, but a small patch of land or green space in someones garden so he could safely pitch his tent, it really stuck with me, so when I saw the March for March fundraiser I decided to give it a go. First fundraiser for me but the values, respect and dedication of these people include many of my family members.
My personal reasons for this march are also for the memory and love of my Grandad Bill, Navy
I will also be thinking of my Great Grandfather John Hanaway RAF as well as my parents
Its no marathon, but with the small amount of spare free time i have im going to walk/jog at least 10 miles around my neighbouring villages, capturing the beauty of the countryside as I go to highlight and appreciate the safe, green spaces we are free to walk because of so many who have served for our countries freedom. Many of whom end up left homeless as well as suffering PTSD and mental illness because of the traumatic scars of what their service left them with.
While walking I'll be collecting any litter as I go. It bothers me how speckled the country lanes are with whatever people seem ok with chucking out their car windows, or maybe even whats just been blown by the wind. Hopefully I won't max out my load before I hit the home run (or find a bin). This would be quite a shame for multiple reasons.
Updates still to come on the date and routes of march and photos on the day will follow too. Please share your support! 🫡

Support my March in March

This year I will be taking on March in March to raise vital funds for life-changing mental health treatment for veterans.

Combat Stress is the UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health. For over a century, they've helped former servicemen and women deal with issues like trauma, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Today, they provide support to veterans from every service and every conflict.

I’m taking on March in March to help take vital steps towards ensuring veterans can get the support they need.

Thank you so much for your support and together we march!
