Why your school or cadet detachment should get involved
- March in March brings everyone together, marching for the same cause, Combat Stress, for veterans mental health.
- It gets you out of the classroom and into the fresh air, boosting everyone's health and wellbeing.
- Gives the opportunity to start important conversations around mental health.
- March in March is open to all, it is your challenge, your way so your school or detachment can work out their own way to complete the miles over the month.

Ark Alexandra Academy Cadets
Ark Alexandra Academy in Hastings have participated in March in March for the past four years raising over £37,000 in the process.
Many of the students at the Academy receive free school meals, and to support the cadets, the school gives financial allowances towards their enrolment fees, equipment purchases, trips and training. Despite the financial difficulties, the cadets continue to be in the Top 3 of the teams leaderboards year on year, the support and generosity of those within the community is clear to see.
When asked about last year’s challenge, CCF Contingent Commander, Nick Burchell said:
"I could not be more proud of the achievements of my cadets. Every year they fully embrace the challenge of raising money for this worthwhile charity and take on the physical demands of the walk in full uniform. As a school in a challenging area on the south coast with high levels of deprivation, my cadets step up and raise fantastic sums for the charity. As a veteran I am so privileged to engage with the charity and for my cadets to see the worth of the work they do."
