Finished!!

We raised over £1,000 for Combat Stress: The UK's Leading Charity for Veterans' Mental Health at Tough Mudder!!! A massive thank you to all who donated or supported us through this process!! With your help, we battled through ice baths, electrified wire, and the gloopiest mud on the planet. conquered fears, I was especially overjoyed to conquer fears with fellow competitors. The comradery we instinctively showed each other when clambering over walls is something I intend to practice outside of the muddy fields (preferably without having to leopard crawl under barbed wire again….). We firmly have our eyes set on double the distance and double the money for the next 10 mile race, so see you there next year!!! 🔥

GOAL REACHED! RACE TOMORROW

Thank you all very much for donating! We have finally reached our goal of £1,000 and will be running the Tough Mudder tomorrow. Look forward to mad photos!

I am raising vital funds for life-changing mental health treatment for veterans.

I'm tackling a gruelling Tough Mudder in April to fundraise for Combat Stress. I’m asking for donations to help this remarkable charity offer crucial support to veterans facing mental health challenges.

This cause holds a special place in my heart due to my Great Grand Uncle, Lieutenant John Houston, a brave soldier awarded a Military Medal and bar (1917) and Military Cross (1918) for his gallantry and devotion to duty under enemy fire during WW1. He struggled to readjust to civilian life in economically-depressed Glasgow and he disappeared, possibly to Australia. Despite searching for years, my Great Grandmother never saw her brother again.

My time at the Edinburgh Officer Training Corps strengthened my awareness of these challenges and has inspired me to run 5 miles of mud-soaked madness. The obstacle course will include ice plunges, leopard crawling through tear gas, and fighting my way through electrified wire.

The team and I are preparing our endurance and mental grit. Any donations you make would support us helping Combat Stress’s team of clinical staff provide specialised treatment to UK veterans.

Thank you for your support!
