I'm fundraising for Combat Stress, a remarkable charity offering crucial support to veterans facing mental health challenges. 

This cause holds a special place in my heart due to my Great Grand Uncle, Lieutenant John Houston, a brave soldier awarded a Military Medal and bar (1917) and Military Cross (1918) for his gallantry and devotion to duty under enemy fire during WW1. He struggled to readjust to civilian life in economically-depressed Glasgow and he disappeared, possibly to Australia. Despite searching for years, my Great Grandmother never saw her brother again.

My time at the Edinburgh Officer Training Corps strengthened my awareness of these challenges. I'm passionate about aiding our returning heroes through this fundraiser. Any donations you make contribute to Combat Stress’s team of clinical staff who provide specialised treatment to UK veterans.
