BOBBY IS ON THE MOVE!!

With over 9 years of experience working within mental health services, This is one thing i hold close to my heart.

Millions of service men and woman have given their time serving our great country, and still continue to do so at present.

Between the periods of 2004 and 2023 there were 283 uk armed forces regular personnel recorded to have committed suicide.

After years of service to our country, many service personnel, find it difficult to integrate back into society. This can be for a number of reasons, however the NHS and uk government guidance make it clear that anyone who has served in the British armed forces have a increased risk of developing mental health issues.

Post‑traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that develops after someone experiences or witnesses a very stressful, frightening, or distressing event.

According to the NHS, PTSD is caused by traumatic events such as serious accidents, violent assaults, combat exposure, or life‑threatening situations. NICE describes it as a condition that can affect people of any age after exposure to major trauma, including war, abuse, or witnessing violence"

There are approximately 1.85 million uk veterans. 3% of them have experienced homelessness, this number equates to roughly:

1,850,000 x 0.03 = 55,500 veterans.

That means around 55,000 veterans have experienced homelessness after service.

I believe the above numbers are way too high, especially when these individuals have given there lives to keep us safe.

I have decided to do this years march for march. I will be covering over 10 miles in honour of our service men and woman, especially those ones suffering with PTSD. T his 10 mile will be covered by a mixture of running and walking, if you can spare any donations, they will be greatly received.

In the last decade alone there as being on average 370 cases of PTSD reported in the armed forces alone.

Support my March in March

This year I will be taking on March in March to raise vital funds for life-changing mental health treatment for veterans.

Combat Stress is the UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health. For over a century, they've helped former servicemen and women deal with issues like trauma, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Today, they provide support to veterans from every service and every conflict.

I’m taking on March in March to help take vital steps towards ensuring veterans can get the support they need.

Thank you so much for your support and together we march!
