Just one week to go!
Just one week to go!
Starting next Monday (March 9–13th), I’m taking on a challenge to raise vital funds for two incredible charities supporting our veterans: Combat Stress and the Royal British Veterans Enterprise (RBVE) through the Great Tommy Sleep Out.
For Combat Stress, the UK’s leading charity providing specialist mental health treatment for veterans dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and more from every conflict - I’ll be hiking a 60 mile multi-day route as part of their March in March challenge.
At the same time, to shine a light on homeless veterans, I’ll be joining the Great Tommy Sleep Out, sleeping rough outdoors during the challenge in solidarity with those who’ve served our country but now face life on the streets. It’s a small way to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with them.
We’re just one week away -your support right now could make a real difference! A donation (big or small), sharing the links, or a quick message of encouragement helps provide the help veterans truly deserve.

A small adventure
This March 9–13th, I’m taking on a proper adventure to raise funds for two brilliant charities that do incredible work for veterans’ mental health and wellbeing: Combat Stress and the Royal British Legion’s Great Tommy Sleep Out (via RBVE).
For Combat Stress—the UK’s top charity helping veterans with trauma, anxiety, depression, and PTSD—I’m hiking a beautiful, scenic route of about 40–50 miles from Oldmeldrum towards Banff as part of their “March in March” challenge.
I’ll start by linking from Oldmeldrum to the Formartine and Buchan Way—an old railway line turned into a flat, peaceful, traffic-free path that winds through the Aberdeenshire countryside, farmland, and villages like Ellon and Maud. Then, as I get closer to the coast, I’ll switch onto the coastal paths around Banff, with North Sea views, cliffs, sandy beaches (like Inverboyndie Bay) and historic harbours.
(Note: I’ll tweak the exact route after day one if needed, to push the miles a bit further depending on how far I get before pitching camp each night. I’m planning 6–7 hours of walking a day, aiming for roughly 15 miles on the mixed terrain—steady but doable!)
Every step is for veterans who’ve given so much, making sure they get the support they truly deserve.
At the same time, I’m doing the Great Tommy Sleep Out to shine a light on homeless veterans—sleeping rough outdoors to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with those who’ve served our country.
I’ll be filming bits of the whole experience and sharing updates on social media along the way
Your support would mean everything—whether that’s a donation, sharing the link, a quick message of encouragement, or just tuning in to the posts. Every bit helps make a real difference.
