Support my Race to Remember

This year I will be taking part in Race to Remember to raise vital funds for life-changing mental health treatment for veterans.

Combat Stress is the UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health. For over a century, they've helped former servicemen and women deal with issues like trauma, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Today, they provide support to veterans from every service and every conflict.

I’m taking on Race to Remember to help take vital steps towards ensuring veterans can get the support they need.

Thank you so much for your support.

My reasons why…

Friday 26th Apr
Why am I doing the Race to Remember challenge? There are a few reasons:

1. Combat stress is a charity that is very close to my heart; coming from a military family and having worked for the charity for seven years I have seen first hand the excellent work they do to support veterans and their families.
2. Combat Stress and the veterans I worked with there shaped me into the Nurse I am today; I want veteran to be able to continue to access their support.
3. Running keeps me sane in a very busy life and if I can raise some money whilst doing something I enjoy then that is a bonus (although how much I’ll be enjoying it after 74km is anyone’s guess!)
4. This is an epic route on a special weekend and I want to pay my respects to all those who have served.

This is a huge challenge for me and one that I am not taking lightly. Coming from spending last year with a broken ankle and then surgery this feels like a comeback. It is not just about the race day for me, it’s about the prep and consistency that goes in beforehand that will make me strong on the day.

Thank you for your support xx
