What time does Race to Remember start?

The 76km Race to Remember will start at 6.00am, the 36km walk at 9.00am and 36km run will begin at 10.30am.

Will there be transfers back to the start?

There will not be bus transfers but both starting lines are easliy accessible from Petersfield and Aldershot train stations. Trains depart regularly from Portsmouth Harbour which is situated next to the Historic Dockyard (finishing line).

Will this be a closed course?

The course will be open to traffic and on public trails, with 85% of the course on trails. The route will be clearly marked and marshalls will be positioned along the course to keep everyone safe and on track.

Are there cut off times for this event?

The cut-off times for this event are listed below. If you are falling behind, don't worry, your Race to Remember is not over. You will be taken to the next break stop in one of our support vehicles to re-join the race.

Will there be refreshments along the route?

Yes, there are six refreshment stations along the route for the ultramarathon and three for the 36km route. A detailed route map will be sent to all participants a week before the race.

Is there an age limit?

We welcome participants aged 16 years and over. However, anyone aged under 18 will need to provide written parental consent to our Challenges team upon registering.

Is there a fundraising target?

This is a charity event and we encourage all runners to aim to raise as much as they can in support of veterans mental health. We have some great, branded fundraising rewards for you to collect and we would love for all participants to wear a Combat Stress branded t-shirt on the day!

  • Raise £50 – to receive your Combat Stress pin badge
  • Raise £150 – to receive your Combat Stress neck buff
  • Raise £375 – to receive your Combat Stress technical t-shirt
  • Raise £500 – to receive your Combat Stress hoodie

When will the fundraising rewards be sent?

We will send out rewards at the start of each week starting from 2 October 2023.

Can I get a Combat Stress t-shirt?

You'll receive your Combat Stress technical t-shirt when you reach £375 in fundraising. You can also find our technical T-shirts in our online shop.

When do I receive my Race to Remember medal?

Race to Remember medals will be given out on event day. For anyone completing the event virtuallly, we will aim to send out medals the week after the Race to Remember event. We use second class post and medals should be with most people within 3 – 4 business days of sending. If you feel you should have already received your medal based upon the information above, please contact us via the contacts page and we will get back to you asap.

How do I set up an online fundraising page?

When you register for Race to Remember, you will be automatically directed to setting up an online fundraising page. Share your fundraising link with your friends and family and you will be sent a wristband when you receive your first donation!

How do I pay in offline donations?

If you have any offline donations, there are a number of ways you can pay your money in.

Put the money into your bank account and then add this onto your fundraising page.

Send a cheque made payable to “Combat Stress” to Race to Remember, Combat Stress, Tyrwhitt House, Oaklawn Road, Leatherhead, Surrey KT22 0BX. Please don’t send cash through the post.
