I am raising vital funds for life-changing mental health treatment for veterans.
Thanks for reading my charity fundraising page. Here is a summary of why I'm running, who I'm running for and how you can help!
Why am I running an Ultra?
I wanted to do something that would be a challenge. I've done ultras before in the past (London 50k Ultra, Compton Downland Challenge (40 miles)) but not for some time (over ten years). It's taken at least a year of deliberation to make sure I was ready to get back into it again!
Which Ultra?
I'll be running the Beyond Trails Bristol Trail & Ultra 55km on 29 March 2025. Link here.
Why Combat Stress?
I've fundraised for Combat Stress before in the past (raising just over £1,000 with Louis back in 2011). At that point I went to see one of their facilities in Leatherhead, Surrey and saw the good work they were doing. As a former soldier, I have a relatively good understanding of the issues they deal with - and ultimately how they support veterans.
How can you help?
Please feel free to donate an amount, however small. I have a target of £500 so whatever you can give will contribute towards reaching that total! Feel free to also share this page with others you think might be supportive too.
About Combat Stress
Combat Stress are the UK’s leading charity for veterans’ mental health.
For over a century, they’ve helped former servicemen and women deal with trauma-related mental health problems such as anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
They’re on a mission to raise awareness that invisible injuries can be just as hard to cope with as physical ones. So when a veteran is having a tough time, they’re there to help them tackle the past and take on the future.
