Surpassing 10 Miles and Aiming Higher! 🚶♀️🎯
This March, I committed to walking 10 miles for Combat Stress. I'm excited to share that I've already surpassed that distance, logging 13 miles so far!
But I'm not stopping there. I've increased my target to 30 miles to further support this vital cause. Every step I take is for those who have served our country and now need our support.

Small Steps, Big Impact: Why I Walk Daily
I used to think exercise had to be intense to count—big runs, gym sessions, or endurance challenges that push you to the limit. But over time, I’ve realized that small, daily movement is just as powerful, if not more so, than one-off big events.
That’s why I focus on walking a little and often rather than training for marathons or big fitness challenges. Walking is simple, effective, and—most importantly—sustainable. Plus, it helps me hit my personal goal of 30 minutes of activity every day—which also aligns with the NHS recommendation of at least 150 minutes of moderate activity per week.
How I’ve Made Walking a Daily Habit
🚶♂️ I break it up. Instead of trying to find time for one long session, I fit in short walks throughout the day—during work breaks, while taking phone calls, or just to get some fresh air.
🥅 I set realistic goals. Aiming for 30 minutes a day or hitting my step goal feels way more achievable than committing to a long-distance race.
🎉 I make it enjoyable. Taking the dog at the same time, listening to music or even just nature make my walks something I actually look forward to.
🎯 I walk with purpose. Right now, I’m walking 10 miles this month for "March in March," supporting Combat Stress, a mental health charity for veterans. Having a cause makes every step more meaningful.
Why Walking Works for Me
I love the fact that I don’t need fancy gear, hours of training, or a race day to feel accomplished. Every step counts, and keeping active consistently has done wonders for my physical and mental well-being—without the pressure of an intense workout routine.
If you’ve ever felt like exercise is overwhelming or "all or nothing," I encourage you to try adding just 30 minutes of movement a day. It doesn’t have to be complicated—just small steps that add up over time.
Who’s joining me? Let’s get moving together! 👟

Support my March in March
This year I will be taking on March in March to raise vital funds for life-changing mental health treatment for veterans.
Combat Stress is the UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health. For over a century, they've helped former servicemen and women deal with issues like trauma, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Today, they provide support to veterans from every service and every conflict.
I’m taking on March in March to help take vital steps towards ensuring veterans can get the support they need.
Thank you so much for your support and together we march!
