My March in March
Welcome all!
I have decided to take part in marching for veterans for a few reasons that sit close to home for me.
My incredible father saw out his military career with the Parachute Regiment, initially achieving the Champion Recruit award handed to him by King Charles himself, he then went on to serve in the Falklands Conflict in 1982 with 2 Para. It wasn’t until I was 17 years old (on the 25th anniversary of the war) that I truly saw the impact of PTSD on a loved one who has experienced war.
Although in my late teens I had aspirations to join the military and follow my Dad, my options were taken away after being involved in a motorcycle road traffic collision and now suffer a life long injury as a result. Following the aftermath of the crash I was diagnosed with PTSD and received treatment to help heal my mental wounds, alongside those that were physical.
As an individual who has struggled with ADHD and mental health I recognise the high importance of raising awareness and doing what we can to support those who need it. No one should be left behind to suffer.
When I saw the work that Combat Stress does, and how flexible the March in March is for everyone, I was excited to grasp the opportunity myself by walking 10 miles in March.
I aim to do this across one weekend, on Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th by doing a 5.2 mile circuit along the Kennet & Avon Canal each day, come rain or shine.
Please support me on my mission to help raise vital funds for our veterans.
Thank you ☺️🤟🏻🫶🏻
Support my March in March
This year I will be taking on March in March to raise vital funds for life-changing mental health treatment for veterans.
Combat Stress is the UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health. For over a century, they've helped former servicemen and women deal with issues like trauma, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Today, they provide support to veterans from every service and every conflict.
I’m taking on March in March to help take vital steps towards ensuring veterans can get the support they need.
Thank you so much for your support and together we march!
