My waist-length hair waiting to be sectioned before cutting.I am raising vital funds for life-changing mental health treatment for veterans.
On Wednesday 16th November 2022, I am having my head shaved and make-up removed to raise money for Combat Stress.
I will 'BARE ALL' and hope to persuade others to do the same, or just to encourage people to donate money.
I was inspired to start my BARE ALL Campaign after meeting homeless veterans in Bristol and Bath. They all had one thing in common - having suffered catastrophic emotional trauma during their active service, they then found it too hard to accept help to deal with the damage caused.
In other words, they just couldn't 'BARE ALL' to get the necessary treatment.
One man felt the only way he could help his wife and children was to leave them, so they didn't have to continue watching him suffer the recurring nightmares and flashbacks. I will never forget the haunted look on this man's face.
Combat Stress is the UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health. For over a century, they've helped former servicemen and women deal with issues like trauma, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Today, they provide support to veterans from every service and every conflict.
I’m taking on vital steps towards ensuring veterans can get the support they need.
Only last week, the nation pledged that we will 'NEVER FORGET'. Please help me prove that we haven't.
Thank you so much for your support.
