Support my Race to Remember
This year, I’m taking part in the Race to Remember — a 48 mile ultra marathon from Aldershot to Portsmouth — to raise funds for Combat Stress, the UK’s leading charity for veterans’ mental health.This cause is deeply personal to me. My stepson, Adam, served proudly in the Royal Dragoon Guards, completing two tours in Afghanistan and was awarded for his bravery. Outwardly, he was confident, full of life, and the centre of every room — but behind that smile, Adam was fighting a mental battle no one could see.
On his 25th birthday, after his second tour of Afghanistan, he succumbed to these terrible demons and took his own life, leaving behind a devastated family.
Combat Stress provides life-changing treatment and support for former servicemen and women dealing with trauma, depression, anxiety, and PTSD. They help veterans find hope, healing, and a future after service — and that’s why I’m running.
By sponsoring me, you’re not just supporting a tough physical challenge — you’re helping veterans get the help they desperately need, and honouring the memory of those like Adam who face unseen struggles.
