Why we need Combat Stress
Yesterday I went to parkrun in my Combat Stress running top. A chap came over to speak to me about the support that his son had received from them. After 2 tours of Afghan and exiting the Army because he was in a very bad place mentally he went to his GP and did not receive the right care. After a referral to Combat Stress and a number of chats on their help line he started to attend a support group and is now in a way better place.Support my challenge
I'm running in memory of Scotty, Mark and Gary.
This year I will be taking on the Great North Run to raise vital funds for life-changing mental health treatment for veterans.
Combat Stress is the UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health. For over a century, they've helped former servicemen and servicewomen deal with issues like trauma, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Today, they provide support to veterans from every service and every conflict.
I’m taking on vital steps towards ensuring veterans can get the support they need.
