Jumping for a Cause: Our Tandem Skydive for Combat Stress

This year, my wife and I are taking a huge leap — quite literally — by throwing ourselves out of a perfectly good plane at 10,000 feet! We’re doing a tandem skydive to raise money and awareness for Combat Stress, the UK’s leading charity for veterans’ mental health.

For those who don’t know, Combat Stress provides vital support to former servicemen and women dealing with conditions like PTSD, anxiety, and depression. They’ve been there for thousands of veterans when they’ve needed it most — offering therapy, counselling, and a safe space to rebuild their lives.

As someone who has seen first-hand how service life can take its toll — both mentally and emotionally — this cause means a lot to us. Life in uniform can be demanding, unpredictable, and often isolating. Too many people bottle things up or suffer in silence. Combat Stress is there to make sure they don’t have to face those battles alone.

So, why a skydive?

Because facing fear head-on feels like a fitting way to honour those who’ve faced far greater challenges. Jumping out of that aircraft together will be our small way of showing support, courage, and gratitude for the incredible men and women who’ve served our country.

We’d love your support — whether it’s through a donation, sharing our story, or simply helping raise awareness for Combat Stress. Every pound makes a difference and helps fund vital treatment that changes lives.

Support my challenge

This year I will be taking on a skydive to raise vital funds for life-changing mental health treatment for veterans.

Combat Stress is the UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health. For over a century, they've helped former servicemen and women deal with issues like trauma, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Today, they provide support to veterans from every service and every conflict.

I’m taking on vital steps towards ensuring veterans can get the support they need.

Thank you so much for your support.
