My March in March
After nearly 12 years in the British Army, with operational tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, I’ve seen first-hand how the invisible scars of service can affect our soldiers, veterans, and their families. That’s why I’m taking on the 2026 “March for March” – to help our charity support those navigating the tough journey back home.
During my time in service, I stood shoulder to shoulder with men and women who gave everything for our country. Some came home with physical injuries, but many more carried the weight of what they’d experienced in their minds. I’ve watched friends struggle to adjust to civilian life, seen partners and children grapple with the changes in their loved ones, and know how hard it can be to ask for help.
Our still-serving troops and veterans shouldn’t have to face these battles alone. The charity I’m supporting works tirelessly to provide mental health care, practical assistance, and a community where no one feels isolated.
To honour the resilience of our service community, I’ll be completing a 10-mile weighted march across undulating terrain, carrying 35lbs plus water. It’s a challenge that echoes the physical demands of service, but it’s nothing compared to the daily struggles many of our veterans face. Every step will remind me of the strength it takes to keep moving forward when things feel heavy.
