3 Army Veterans Running 76km Aldershot to Portsmouth for Combat Stress

Thanks for taking the time to read this. I’m Adam, and I’ve managed to rope in Adam and Rob to complete this 76km run from Aldershot to Portsmouth with me to raise funds for Combat Stress.

This year we’re taking part in Race to Remember to raise vital funds for life-changing mental health treatment for veterans.

We all served in the same unit in the Army and have completed multiple operational tours overseas. Rob’s a veteran but still serving in the Army Reserves, so this cause is close to home for all of us. We know what it’s like to come home carrying things you can’t switch off from. Some days are harder than others, and that’s why this matters.

Adam and I also served as Army Physical Training Instructors, so it feels right to start this run where we trained at the Home of the PTI Corps in Aldershot. We’ve both done ultra marathon distances before, but not for almost 15 years — and also when we were 15 kg lighter! So this is not going to be easy!

Combat Stress is the UK’s leading charity for veterans’ mental health. For over a century, they’ve helped former servicemen and women deal with issues like trauma, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Today, they provide support to veterans from every service and every conflict.

We’re taking on Race to Remember to help take vital steps towards ensuring veterans can get the support they need.

We start at 0600hrs on 7th November 2026 in Aldershot and finish at HMS Victory in Portsmouth... hopefully sometime the same year!

If you can donate, thank you. If you can’t, please share this page.

We’ll look to post updates and photos during the run so you can follow along.

Thank you for standing with us and with the veterans who need help now.

The day I met you, I knew then that you were going to be one of the best people I will ever get to know. Enduring lots of challenges during your childhood and professional years and being open to what comes before you has made you who you are today. What a fantastic cause to help veterans develop and meet their goals outside the military. Good luck and most of all have fun to you, Adam and Rob during this event.
