Weighted Half Marathon for March in March
On the 15th of March, I will be running the distance of a half marathon (21.1km/13.1miles). This is for March in March a challenge set by Combat Stress, this challenges a 10 miles walk or run through the month of March. I will be completing this in one day, but with a twist. I’ll be carrying 16kg of weight within a day sack, symbolising the heavy burden of mental health struggles that many veterans carry and face every day. The route is anything but flat, consisting of steep inclines through the Midlothian countryside.
I’m doing this to raise funds for Combat Stress, a charity that provides life-changing mental health support to former members of the UK Armed Forces. Many veterans battle PTSD, anxiety, and depression, often in silence. Combat Stress offers them the specialist help they need to rebuild their lives.
Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. Your support can help provide therapy, peer support, and essential treatment to those who have served our country.
Support my March in March
This year I will be taking on March in March to raise vital funds for life-changing mental health treatment for veterans.
Combat Stress is the UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health. For over a century, they've helped former servicemen and women deal with issues like trauma, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Today, they provide support to veterans from every service and every conflict.
I’m taking on March in March to help take vital steps towards ensuring veterans can get the support they need.
Thank you so much for your support and together we march!
