March in March build-up, for veterans

I got another practice walk done yesterday as part of my build-up to March in March for Combat Stress. The miles matter, but the reason matters more.

This challenge is about supporting veterans who are dealing with mental health issues after service, things like trauma, anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Too many people carry that weight quietly for years, and they shouldn’t have to. Combat Stress provides specialist support that can genuinely change lives.

I’ll keep putting the work in through March, not for “fitness goals”, but to back the people who’ve already done their hard miles.

Practice Walk Update - 25th January 26

Today I got a practice walk done ahead of my March in March fundraiser for Combat Stress. This one doesn’t count towards the official March miles, it’s preparation and building consistency so I’m ready when March starts.

I covered 13.25 km in 4 hours 8 minutes, with 273 m of ascent, carrying 5.35 kg in my pack. Solid time on feet and good training in the bank.

Thanks to everyone who has already sponsored me, I genuinely appreciate the early support. I’ll keep posting updates as the miles build through March.

March in March: 50 Miles for Combat Stress

I’ve already had 3 donations, thank you for the early support. It’s appreciated. I’ll update this page with progress as I go.

Why I’m Taking on March in March for Combat Stress

This March I’m taking part in March in March, a walking challenge in support of Combat Stress, the UK charity that provides specialist mental health care for veterans.

The aim is simple: walk 10 miles during March and raise funds to help former service personnel who are living with conditions such as PTSD, anxiety, and depression. Behind that simple target is a much bigger reality. Many veterans continue to fight battles long after they leave the forces, and Combat Stress exists to make sure they don’t have to do that alone.

I’m choosing to do this by walking. It’s something I already value for my own wellbeing, and it feels right to use it to support others who are struggling. Every mile is a small reminder that recovery is a journey, not a single step.

If you’re able to support me, any donation, large or small, will go directly towards life-changing mental health treatment for veterans across the UK.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any support you can give.

Support my March in March

This year I will be taking on March in March to raise vital funds for life-changing mental health treatment for veterans.

Combat Stress is the UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health. For over a century, they've helped former servicemen and women deal with issues like trauma, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Today, they provide support to veterans from every service and every conflict.

I’m taking on March in March to help take vital steps towards ensuring veterans can get the support they need.

Thank you so much for your support and together we march!
