Starting and finishing at the iconic Old Trafford stadium the Manchester Marathon is one of the UK’s flattest and fastest courses, so whether this is your first marathon or you’re looking for a PB, this is the one for you. Join our team of amazing runners today and put your best foot forward for veterans’ mental health.

FAQs

Is there anywhere to leave my bag?

There is a bag drop at Emirates Old Trafford but you are politely asked to only bring a small back pack or gym bag that contains only day essentials. Make sure you leave plenty of time to drop your bag before race start. 

You will be given a wristband for collection and you must wear this throughout the marathon. 

What time does the Manchester Marathon start?

Manchester Marathon starts at 9am with a mass start. The start areas are colour coded, this will be labelled on your race numbers which you will receive from the organiser before the event.

Are there any toilets on the route?

There are 170 touilets located on Brian Statham, including disabled toilets. There are also five toilets located at each drinks station on the course. 

How will my time be recorded?

Your time will be calculated by chip time and this will begin from when you cross the start mat. There are a number of mats on the course to check your times. 

Where does the Manchester Marathon start and finish?

Manchester Marathon starts under the arch at White City Way, and it ends on Talbot Road.

Will I receive a recovery bag once I have completed the marathon?

Yes, Manchester Marathon organisers have prepared recovery bags which will consist of water, a foil blanket, recovery bars and a finisher's t-shirt and medal. 

Do runners receive a Combat Stress running top?

Yes, all charity place runners receive a Combat Stress top, as long as you are on track to reaching the fundraising target. 

Own place runners will receive one if they raise over £100. 

We have started to send these out to all team members. If you have not received your top yet please email challenges@combatstress.org.uk 

When will I receive my race day pack?

Race day packs will come from the organisers of Manchester Marathon.

They have stated that the packs will be created approximately 6 weeks before the event, and that they can arrive up until one day before Manchester Marathon.

If you have an international address then your packs will not be sent but they have arranged a collection point on Saturday 4th April.
