Surrey Army Cadet Force walks around the stunning Surrey Hills

01 Feb 2026

For March in March 2025, Surrey Army Cadet Force walks around the stunning Surrey Hills for the MinM 10 miles. All our Cadets work together to encourage those that might struggle either physically or mentally and the team work they display is part of what makes Army Cadets and Combat Stress so special. No one is left behind and each Cadet uses their own strengths to ensure the team completes the 10 miles.

We do this walk not only for our benefit but to benefit the veterans that we raise funds and support for. We take on this challenge in our Army Cadet uniform and walk together as a unit with pride. Last year we had just over 100 cadets on our March in March event where we raised £5,545. This year we are hoping to improve attendance to 150 cadets and aiming for £6,000 in sponsorship. This March will be my third year participating for such a good cause. March in March is a key highlight to the cadet activities I participate in. Not only do we raise vital funds, but participation also honed some fantastic navigation and first aid skills along the way.

It is heartwarming seeing the smiles upon everyone’s faces when they hit the 10mile mark and realise their own sense of achievement. Participating in March for March allows Army cadets to think about others and themselves as well as doing something amazing for a worthwhile charity.

As a cadet myself I am lucky to see the benefits the Army Cadet Force brings to those that participate by developing friendships, skills and experiences that last a lifetime!
