Roger Wrights March in March

28 Mar 2026

My March in March for Combat Stress began on the 1st with a 5.43-mile walk around Eaton and Earlham parks in Norwich. For the second march, I covered 9.77 miles through villages south of Norwich, following the Boudicca Way. On the 5th, I opted for a shorter route around Mousehold Heath. The 7th saw me completing a circular walk of 5.79 miles, which included a visit to Edith Cavell’s birthplace in Swardeston and nearby villages.

Returning to the Boudicca Way on the 9th, I walked 3.7 miles in the Shotesham area. Between the 11th and 16th, I followed the Boudicca Way from Saxlingham Nethergate to Shimpling, covering a total of 23.4 miles. For a change of scenery on the 19th, I marched 3.9 miles along the coast at Blakeney. The 24th marked the final leg of the Boudicca Way, walking just over 10 miles from Shimpling to Diss and back.

On the 28th, I explored a different area with a 10.24-mile circular walk from Reepham, passing through five villages connected to my paternal grandparents’ families. My final march on the 31st took me to North Walsham and local villages where I spent my childhood, covering 10.28 miles and ending the day with a night in my bivvy.

March was a memorable month, which included my 68th birthday and allowed me to achieve several bucket list moments that I might not have attempted without Combat Stress.
