For Combat Stress March in March eight of us from reenactor group The Matlock Pals marched at least 10 miles round Cannock Chase, in WW1 infantry uniforms and webbing, or as a stretcher bearer, carrying a stretcher. Cannock Chase housed a large training base in WW1, and two camps, Brocton and Rugely. There is a fascinating museum to this in an original Great War Hut, and the German Military cemetery is on Cannock Chase, home to the remains of 5000 soldiers.
