I started raising funds for Combat Stress in 2014 after I started the project "Sacrifice & Remembrance" www.sacrificeandremembrance.com
Having served in the Army for 26 years the work of Combat Stress in helping veterans who were suffering through mental health issues resonated with me. One of the aims of my volunteering in delivering the above project was to raise funds from donations of those attending my presentations
I get great pleasure knowing that my project "Sacrifice & Remembrance" indirectly is helping Veterans who need the support of Combat Stress
Through my presentations it has given me the opportunity to meet audiences and share my passion for the themes of my talks with them knowing that their donations are going to a worthy cause.
I remembered after one of my presentations I received an email from the father of a Veteran. He explained that his son, a Veteran, had been suffering from PTSD for over 7 years and could I put him touch with Combat Stress to get the help he needed.
I’d really recommend volunteering with Combat Stress. The charity relies on all the their volunteers to help with their raising funds for veterans.
I truly believe volunteering is an opportunity to give something back to society helping others in a totally selfless way which can only be beneficial to ones own self esteem.
I am having an amazing time delivering my message. So far, I have delivered over 650 presentations to over 26,000 people raising over £53,000 for Combat Stress and I look forward to delivering many more presentations.
