I started my March in March started at the Goat Ledge cafe in St.Leonards seafront, cheered off by friends. The route was along the seafront to the Sovereign Light cafe in Bexhill, (made famous by Keane!), 5 miles away.
About halfway I bumped into a load of cadets who were also doing the March for March for combat stress! They had the patch sewn on their combat jackets! After a chat and pictures we went in opposite directions. They had just done the route I was taking.
When I reached the Sovereign light cafe, I was met by family members who then cheered me off on the return leg. I arrived back at the Goat Ledge cafe approx 3hrs later, met by my wife with a union flag! I wore DPM pattern combats as I did when I served with The London Scottish Regiment. (1984-1990). That’s my regimental glengarry I’m wearing on the walk!
