Regional Fundraiser of the year 2024 - jeremy prescott

For over 10 years Jeremy has been out in the community raising awareness and vital funds by way of his Sacrifice and Remembrance presentations. To date he has raised an outstanding £43k! through his captivating and engaging presentations. Thank you and Congratulations, Jeremy!

At just nine years old, Sophie joined March in March, walking 10 miles with her dog, Hugo, to support veterans' mental health. Aiming for £300, she raised an incredible £3,375.20! Among nearly 3,000 participants, Sophie topped the 2024 leaderboard!

 

FUndraiser of the year 2024 - Matt lamb & Richard Baldwin

In September, Matt and Richard took on the Apex Everest Challenge, repeatedly summitting Helvellyn to match Everest’s height. Richard finished an incredible 4th in 29 hours, 43 minutes, while Matt, new to endurance events, placed 7th in 32 hours, 25 minutes. Their determination raised an amazing £14,000 for veterans’ mental health!

Veteran Andrew Christie has supported Combat Stress since 2018, raising over £5,000 as a collection box volunteer in Aberdeen. In 2024 alone, he raised an impressive £2,185 through street collections, despite fewer people carrying cash. Andrew also helped secure a major corporate partnership and continues to spread awareness wherever he goes!

Commercial partner of the year 2024 - stirling timepieces

Stirling Timepieces, a veteran-owned watch business founded in 2021, has supported Combat Stress since its early days. As they’ve grown, so have their donations, contributing an incredible £33,707 last year through watch sales. They furthered their support by increasing donations during Black Friday sales in November!

Corporate charity champion of the year 2025 - Sarah Chapman

Sarah has gone above and beyond as Charity Champion for the Combat Stress and Pinnacle Service Families partnership, making a huge impact through her dedication and creativity. From organising a 12-hour 'dartathon' with her children to workplace fundraisers and vending machine donations, she has raised vital funds and awareness. Her passion and energy continue to inspire us all!

veteran ambassador of the year 2024 - clare hearl

Army veteran Clare came to Combat Stress for treatment in 2016. Since then, she has been a dedicated ambassador, raising awareness of veterans' mental health. She has shared her story through our corporate film, social media, fundraising appeals, media interviews, and most recently, at the Imperial War Museum, bravely speaking about her experiences.

Veteran storyteller of the year 2024 - dale garner

Army veteran Dale received our help in 2022 and has since generously shared his story to support Combat Stress, helping to raise vital funds and encourage other veterans to seek help. From appearing in our corporate film and social media to featuring in our annual report, fundraising appeals, and even reading at our London Carols, Dale’s support has been incredible.

our community event of the year - The Longest Day Picnic

Our Community Event of the Year is an annual July picnic in South Gloucestershire, hosted by Armed Forces members and MOD civilians. With support from local businesses, police, and Gloucester Community Networking, over 1,000 attendees enjoy vintage aircraft, classic cars, and history groups. Combat Stress has been one of the chosen charities since 2023, receiving £12,000 so far and are set to fundraise for us again in 2025!

Veteran advocate of the year 2024 - steve pountney

Army veteran Steve came to Combat Stress for treatment in 2020 and has since helped raise awareness and funds for veterans’ mental health. He bravely shared his PTSD journey at our open day, appeared in a film to support other veterans, took part in a fundraising appeal, featured on social media, read at our Christmas carol concert, and even completed an ultramarathon to raise money!

In 1909, AA members transported Guardsmen from London to Hastings in a War Office exercise. The Invicta Military-Vehicle Preservation Society (IMPS) has kept this legacy alive with its annual AA Commemorative Military Road Run from Sevenoaks to Hastings. Upon arrival, vehicles line up at The Stade for public viewing. Led by James Baxter, the event has raised over £20,000 for Combat Stress, thanks to entry fees and event-day collections, celebrating a key moment in military transport history.

endurance fundraiser of the year 2024 - finley burkitt

After a serious knee injury on the TV show, Gladiators last year, Finley used his recovery time to plan his next challenge—a 24-hour pull-up World Record attempt while wearing a 10kg weighted vest. Pushing his body and mind to the limit, he took the opportunity to raise an incredible £2,550 for Combat Stress, giving back to support veterans like his uncle.

In an inspiring feat of dedication and resilience, Band of Brothers & The Rushdenites took on our D-Day Challenge, completing a 44-mile ultra run and a 22-mile walk across Normandy’s historic beaches, finishing at Pegasus Bridge. Together, they raised an outstanding £17,501, contributing to a record-breaking £191,214—making last year our most successful D-Day Challenge yet.
