Terms & Conditions
Combat Stress Terms and Conditions for Charity Place Fundraisers
By registering for the Brighton Marathon 2027 and choosing to do so via a charity place, you are making a commitment to Combat Stress to reach a minimum fundraising target of £500 and agreeing to the following terms and conditions.
The cost of you taking part in the Brighton Marathon is the registration fee of £40 which is payable by yourself plus an event fee, which is payable by Combat Stress to the event organiser of £132.
For this reason, a minimum fundraising target has been set and must be met by yourself. The initial target of at least 25% must be submitted to Combat Stress by 23 October 2026.
Where you are unable to meet this initial target, and there is no prospect of you meeting the minimum fundraising target, Combat Stress reserves the right to notify the organisers and revoke your place in the event without refunding your registration fee. In this case, you will be removed from the event and must notify any donors that you are no longer participating to give them the option to claim a refund.
Combat Stress want to support you to hit your fundraising target and the Challenges team are on hand to answer any questions you may have, as well as point you in the right direction towards our fantastic fundraising resources as well as hints and tips to make the most of your fundraising. Please do contact us should you have any concerns regarding your fundraising, by phone 01372 587 140 or email challenges@combatstress.org.uk
You also agree to:
- Endeavour to pay to Combat Stress all offline donations within six weeks of the event date and return all used and un-used sponsorship forms.
- Not hold on to money raised but send it to Combat Stress regularly in cheque form (made payable to Combat Stress), BACs or paid directly via my online sponsorship page. All online donations will automatically be sent to Combat Stress.
- Not raise funds by carrying out ‘door to door’ or unsolicited collections.
- Not collect in any public place without first obtaining a collector's license from the local authority.
- Not collect on private property (including shops, pubs etc.) without obtaining the owner’s permission.
- Not conduct any raffle, lottery or public collection without first contacting the Combat Stress Challenge Team.
- Consent that any photos taken of me at my event may be used on Combat Stress social media pages and marketing materials (please note you can refuse their use at the point of being taken and ask for the photos to be removed from our social media at any time).
- Fully prepare myself for the physical challenge of the event and not hold Combat Stress responsible or liable in any way for any accident, injury or illness sustained.
- Not do anything to bring Combat Stress into disrepute.
By accepting this Fundraising Agreement form I confirm that I will be 16 years of age or over by the date of the event and I accept all points stated in this Fundraiser Agreement. If under 16, I confirm I have obtained consent from a parent or guardian.
