With it’s start line in the incredible city centre, you’ll run through the very heart of Edinburgh when you take on this amazing challenge! Greyfriars Bobby, The Mound, Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile and the Palace of Holyrood are just a few of the landmarks you will pass and maybe one of the reasons that this is the second largest marathon in the UK behind only London. Edinburgh has also been voted the fastest marathon in the UK by Runners World, so if this is your first marathon or you’re looking for a PB, this is the event for you!

You start your run just outside of Edinburgh, running along the breath-taking East Lothian Golf Course, before finishing in the final furlong at Musselburgh Racecourse. Both the Half Marathon and 10k are fantastic additions to the 2025 running calendar. This fast and flat route is surrounded by beautiful scenery and not one to miss!
