I am raising vital funds for life-changing mental health treatment for veterans.
Hello, my name is Thomas Brown, I am a 16 year old school boy who is currently working towards GCSES. I have a huge passion for running and have done for almost 2 years now, I have run 10, 12, 15 miles before but have never even come close to a 20 miler - and for that reason I am dedicating myself to complete a 20 miler on Saturday.. the 16th of March 2024. This will be a huge challenge for myself as I have never come close to this distance before. I want to complete this run not only for myself, but for the charity Combat stress - to help veterans deal with issues such as trauma, anxiety, depression and post traumatic stress disorder.
I have a huge passion for this charity as some of my family are veterans.. and I want to say a lot goes under the radar when dealing with these issues… Combat Stress is the UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health.
I myself am going to sign up for the Royal Marines in a few years time after I have done my bit at college. Joining the military has been a definite for me since I was a young lad. This may mean even I, or anyone else out there aspiring to join the forces may turn to this charity one day, in search of help and advice to solve any issues.
I’m taking on vital steps towards ensuring veterans can get the support they need.
