My names Pat “Fordy” Ford 
I served with A “grenadier” coy in Afghanistan. 
We were the pointy tip of the spear and I was proud to be part of such a prestigious infantry unit.
My main role on ops was to be a cover man, something I took great pride in, I was the eyes, ears and security to whoever was in front of me, while they were eyes down looking for ied’s it was my job to look after them. 
I’ve struggled a lot since Afghanistan, but I’m proud of what we achieved. There’s no hero’s out there, just ordinary kids doing an extraordinary job.
I hope I can raise a few quid for any that needs it but more importantly raise awareness for the lads and lasses like me who gave up their youth in service of their country.

I'm taking part in the Combat Stress Waggy Trails Challenge!

This year I'll be taking on Waggy Trails to raise vital funds for life-changing mental health treatment for veterans. Me being one of those very people who needs support. I’m doing this for all the guys and girls (even the RAF 😗) who have struggled or are still fighting battles long after they’ve stood down.

I have been at the lowest point of my life this year so if I can raise anything at all and help just one person it will be worth it. This is also the next step in my own journey and recovery. We can’t change what happened to us but we can shape our future.
