Walking Up Snowdon With 25kg: A Challenge for Combat Stress

October
Location: Snowdon, Wales

Why I’m Here:
I’m walking up Snowdon carrying 25 kilos of weight – the same amount I’ve lost. This climb represents more than just a physical challenge. It’s a way to face the weight I once carried, both on my body and in my mind.

Link to Combat Stress:
For me, the mountain is symbolic of combat stress – the invisible burden that can feel just as heavy as any pack on my back. Every step reminds me that healing is a journey. Some paths are steep, some are slippery, but progress comes with persistence.

Reflections While Climbing:

The weight reminds me how far I’ve come.

The mountain reminds me there will always be obstacles, but they can be overcome.

The air, the cold, and the effort remind me that I’m alive and capable.

Message to Others Struggling with Combat Stress:
You’re not alone. The load you carry may feel impossible, but it can be lifted bit by bit. Every step forward matters. Every breath is proof of strength. Healing is possible, and so is change.

Closing Thought:
Today I carried the weight I lost, but I will not carry it forever. This climb is proof that I’m stronger without it – in body, in mind, and in spirit.
