I'm taking part in the Combat Stress Marathon in a Month challenge!

This year I will be taking on Marathon in a Month to raise vital funds for life-changing mental health treatment for veterans.

Combat Stress is the UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health. For over a century, they've helped former servicemen and women deal with issues like trauma, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Today, they provide support to veterans from every service and every conflict.

I’m taking vital steps towards ensuring veterans can get the support they need.

Thank you so much for your support.

My Updates

Thank You!

Monday 13th Nov
Well I finished the challenge yesterday, and yes, I’ve got to admit I’m f****** hurting, still I’m happy with what I’ve done, not bad for a 56 year old who hasn’t trained for at least 16 years, had some more sponsorship come in this morning so hopefully I’ll break £1000 raised
Thanks to all

Done It!!

Sunday 12th Nov
Just back in from Tab number 7, 3 miles, takes my Challenge mileage to 27!
Feeling good, especially as I’ve completed it on Remembrance Sunday too!

Tab 5

Friday 10th Nov
Done my fifth tab now, 21 miles done, only 5 more for the challenge, I had hoped to crack on and try and do a total of four marathon distances for me, unfortunately I’ve got Plantar fasciitis in my left foot so I’ve got to reign it in a bit!! Mrs has told me off for going at it too hard for my age! Lol she’s right, but when I get focussed I don’t always get it right😂😂

Flat Tyre!!

Thursday 9th Nov
Unfortunately I’ve had to rest up for a few days, got a bout of Plantar fasciitis and it bloody hurts, strapping with tape and ice treatment, hopefully ready to go again tomorrow…. I WILL complete my challenge!👍🏻

Tab 4 Sunday Morning

Sunday 5th Nov
Tab number 4 completed, longest so far, 5.26 miles in 86 minutes, pace is good, the miles are adding up now, all good 😊👍🏻👍🏻

Game On

Saturday 4th Nov
Three Tabs completed for the challenge, 12 miles down, 14 to go for the Marathon and 92 for my personal target, all good so far!👍🏻👍🏻

Just back from doing just under 4 miles, pace is getting better, 1 hour 6 mins, feeling really good
Hope you’re all doing good

Why I’m doing the challenge

Friday 20th Oct
I’m ex Royal Sigs, served from 83 to 89, loved every minute and made some real friends, as the years have passed though my mental health has, unfortunately suffered, it’s no longer a  subject to keep quiet, it’s serious and it’s very real, it’s great that Combat Stress are here to help, doing this challenge to help make a difference to all veterans has given me a drive and determination I’ve not felt for years, I’m excited once again and I have regained my spark, can only be a good thing, I’m proud to say I’ve served and proud to help my fellow veterans
A massive thanks to all that are taking part and all that are supporting this challenge
Let’s smash it!
