Training is going well!

Last month I ran my 2nd ever 100 mile distance at the RatRace Castle to Castle from Edinburgh to Glamis! It was an absolute awesome adventure. Plenty of highs lows (elevation included!). But it was done in 34hrs 57 minutes. A new PB!
However I've still gotta find 5hrs if I want to finish the Cheshire Ring 100 under the 30hr cut off. Pushing myself mentally and physically further than I ever have before. But it's nothing in comparison to what others go through. Which is why this is such an important thing for me. That struggle to put one foot in front of the other is sometimes too great. But with support it becomes something that can be more manageable.

100mile fun run.

So before I signed up for this challenge, I had signed up for another ultra. 100miles from Edinburgh castle to Glamis castle with RatRace. I'd completed their first 100mile event last year in 38hrs 40mins and this is the next leg so I thought why not! I can do the distance. But now it's about time. Completing 100 miles under 30hrs is hard graft! So this weekend will be a test to see how far off the mark I am!

I am raising vital funds for life-changing mental health treatment for veterans.

I will attempt to complete the GB Ultras Cheshire Ring 100 ultramarathon in under 30hrs on 26-27 September 2026 for World Suicide Prevention Day and National Suicide Prevention and Awareness month in September to honour the memory of my Uncle John who we lost to suicide last year.

My uncle joined the army at a young age and served for a short time with the Grenadier Guards, it shaped him a lot and he carried pride of his service in later life. It is a bond that we shared with my own current service in the RAF.

Just before his 63rd birthday on 5 Nov 2025, after over 2 decades of battling, coping with the ups and downs, he lost his battle with his mental health.

This is a cause extremely close to my heart and I aim to raise awareness and funds for Combat Stress to support other veterans that may be struggling in their battles with mental health.

Combat Stress is the UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health. For over a century, they've helped former servicemen and women deal with issues like trauma, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Today, they provide support to veterans from every service and every conflict.

I’m taking on vital steps towards ensuring veterans can get the support they need.

Thank you so much for your support.
