Combat Stress - March-in-March 2025 - Day 7

OK so why at 76, walk 10+ miles including a muddy cliff top and back just for Welsh cakes. Well, it's to seek donations from you to support Combat Stress's work. Read this recent editorial "Psychological consequences of global armed conflict" by Victoria Williamson and Dominic Murphy.

Abstract
Armed conflict unvaryingly leads to a loss of life, serious violations of human rights and international law, and extensive human suffering. As technological advances change the landscape of modern armed conflict,
developments are also urgently needed to ensure accessible, evidence-based care is readily available to those affected.  Keywords: Moral injury, Trauma, PTSD, War

I just had an epiphany: Walk, run or roll 10 miles during March to raise funds for Combat Stress life-changing mental health treatment for veterans. It's easy to take part - simply register for free, decide when and where you're going to complete your challenge and then get started! Just log on and enter your days mileage. Track on the Leaders Board how you are doing against other individuals, teams and organisations. https://lnkd.in/eMd8siev

Take on the challenge of completing your 10 miles in one day or spread your miles over the month. Walking in the fresh air is a great way to get away from your keyboard and mobile to give your own mental and physical health a boost, so register for free today and go the distance for veterans' mental health. Plenty of resources to help you get started. https://lnkd.in/eMWwu_yp

Me I'm daft, my target is 200+ miles in month. So don't forget to support this grumpy old man and donate to my March-in-March 2025.

March-in-March 2025 - my second and in my 76th year. Target 200 miles.

Support my March in March

This year I will be taking on March in March to raise vital funds for life-changing mental health treatment for veterans.

Combat Stress is the UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health. For over a century, they've helped former servicemen and women deal with issues like trauma, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Today, they provide support to veterans from every service and every conflict.

I’m taking on my second March in March in my 76th year to help take vital steps towards ensuring veterans can get the support they need.

Thank you so much for your support and together we march!
