Dan is running the London Marathon 2023
On the 23rd of April 2023 I will be running the London marathon in memory of my late friend Jack Kirmond.
Jack passed away this year unexpectedly which came a huge and devastating shock to all of his family and friends. After attending his funeral in September, it was clear how much he was loved by so many. I wanted to do something that honoured his memory that I know that he would be proud of.
I have teamed up with combat stress a charity close to Jacks heart. After leaving the armed forces where we both worked together Jack began to struggle with his mental health. He turned to the team at Combat stress who gave him the support he needed to deal with his PTSD.
Combat Stress is the UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health. For over a century, they've helped former servicemen and women deal with issues like trauma, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Today, they provide support to veterans from every service and every conflict.
Combat stress wouldn’t be able to provide such amazing services for the armed forces without the generosity of donations. I’m hoping that you will all support me in reaching my goal of raising money for such an incredible charity helping my fellow veterans every single day.
In these uncertain financial times, anything you can give is greatly appreciated no matter how small it all helps to make a difference to someone’s life just as it did Jack’s.
