In memory of Alan Mackelworth

Our much-loved Dad, Alan Mackelworth, passed away peacefully on Saturday 4 July 2026.

In lieu of flowers, we are inviting anyone who wishes to remember Dad to make a donation to Combat Stress, a charity that became very close to his heart.

Dad had always been immensely proud of his own father, Mack, who served during the Second World War. As they spoke more openly in later years, Dad came to appreciate the lasting impact that Mack's wartime experiences had on his life. Those conversations led him to Combat Stress.

Over the last several years, Combat Stress became a huge part of Dad's life. Through sponsored walks and fundraising events, it gave him the opportunity to keep active, challenge himself, meet new people and support a cause he genuinely believed in. He was incredibly proud to wear his Combat Stress t-shirts, hoodies and polos, and rarely missed an opportunity to tell people about the charity and the work it does.

Members of the family will be proudly wearing our Combat Stress tops at Dad's funeral - something we're sure would have made him smile.

If you would like to remember Dad by supporting a charity that meant so much to him, we would be incredibly grateful for any donation, however large or small.

Thank you for helping us celebrate Dad's life and continue supporting a cause he was proud to be part of.
