When and where do I complete my 76 miles?

You can complete the challenge at any time before VJ Day on Sunday 15th August! How and where you complete the challenge is completely up to you, which means the event can be adjusted to your own personal challenge – attempt a PB by cycling your fastest 76 miles ever, complete a virtual 76 mile relay with family and friends, or clock up 76 miles by VJ Day.

Please be careful, stay safe, use your best judgement and wear a helmet.

What if I can’t do 76 miles in one day?

No problem! If you can’t cycle your 76 miles in one day, you can spread it out over a number of days or get your friends and family on board to share the miles. Ride to Victory is a virtual event done your way! Just make sure you finish your miles by the end of VJ Day 15th August 2021.

How does the government guidance on social distancing affect my challenge?

Getting out in the fresh air is a great way to give your mental health a boost and we should all be leaving the house for exercise daily; giving you the perfect opportunity to complete your cycle challenge!

When completing your #RidetoVictory, be sure to adhere to the government’s guidelines at the time. 

Can I take part with family and friends?

Yes – the more the merrier! Please be sure to check and follow government guidelines at the time and make sure your challenge is covid-19 compliant.

Can I enter my child in the event?

Yes! Ride to Victory is a great challenge for all the family and you can split the miles between you. Please ensure that children are accompanied by an adult at all times and are a capable cyclist.

How much is it to register and how will my registration fee be spent?

Register before 30 June for our early bird £12 single/£36 family offer. The registration fee will then rise to £15/£50. This fee goes towards supporting our work and covers the medal cost, postage, packaging, and processing.

How do I track my miles?

You can either connect your Strava or Fitbit to your profile page during the sign-up process, or if you do not have either of these there is an option to add your miles in manually.

We recommend using Strava. It is free and easy to join and you can also join our Team Combat Stress Strava group.

Follow these steps to track your miles automatically:

1. Download the Fitbit, Strava or MapMyFitness app and set up your account

2. Log in to your Ride to Victory account.

3. Under the heading ‘Connect your preferred Fitness app’, click your chosen app.

4. Follow the prompts to connect your account

5. When you next work out, select ‘start your workout’ in the app on your phone. Once you end your workout, save your workout and your distance will be published to the tally on your page the following day.

How much do I have to fundraise to take part?

There’s no fundraising target for Ride to Victory, we’d just love you to raise as much as you can.

We advise you to set your fundraising target at £300 and see how you go! The funds and awareness you raise from your 76 miles will help us provide life changing treatment to the veterans who turn to us. We feel you should be rewarded for your efforts, so why not try to collect our #RidetoVictory rewards throughout your journey? Rewards will be sent out weekly…

When will the fundraising rewards be sent?

We will send out rewards at the start of each week starting from 5th July 2021.

Can I get a Combat Stress t-shirt?

Yes please visit our online shop for Combat Stress branded clothing. You could also receive a Combat Stress cycle top if you raise £250 from your #RidetoVictory fundraising.

When do I receive my #RidetoVictory medal?

We aim to send out all medals week commencing 16th August. We use second class post and medals should be with most people within 3 – 4 business days of uploading their #RidetoVicotry photo. If you feel you should have already received your medal based upon the information above, please contact us via the contacts page and we will get back to you asap.

How do I set up an online fundraising page?

When you register for #RidetoVictory, you will be automatically directed to setting up an online fundraising page. Share your fundraising link with your friends and family and you will be sent a wristband when you receive your first donation!

How long do I have to fundraise?

Ideally we would like you to have completed your fundraising by the end of August. If you have any questions or concerns about fundraising, please contact us on challenges@combatstress.org.uk or give us a call on 01372 587 140.

How do I pay in offline donations?

If you have any offline donations, there are a number of ways you can pay your money in.

Put the money into your bank account and then add this onto your fundraising page.

Send a cheque made payable to “Combat Stress” to #RidetoVictory, Combat Stress, Tyrwhitt House, Oaklawn Road, Leatherhead, Surrey KT22 0BX. Please don’t send cash through the post.
