DIGGING HISTORY UK
Digging History UK is one of the largest metal detecting groups in the United Kingdom. In 2024, the group successfully raised an impressive £17,000 for Combat Stress, through their Festival of History event held in Cambridgeshire. Building on this achievement, Digging History UK has pledged to raise an extraordinary £100,000 in 2025 for Combat Stress.
The group’s support is particularly poignant as many of its members are veterans themselves. By fundraising and raising awareness, Digging History UK is not only contributing financially but also encouraging veterans to take up metal detecting, a hobby known for its physical and mental health benefits.
We hope that more people will join us in taking up the hobby, giving their own mental health a boost and raising funds for Combat Stress, ensuring that those who served our country receive the mental health care they deserve.

COMBAT STRESS
Combat Stress is the UK's leading veterans' mental health charity, the work they do is life-changing and often life-saving. They provide the only intensive mental health treatment service to UK veterans. Their services are provided across the UK, in-person and online.
They provide clinical treatment and support for veterans from the British Armed Forces, focusing on those with complex mental health issues resulting from their experiences during military service. When some military personnel leave service, their experiences can’t easily be left behind. Without treatment, psychological trauma can eventually tear lives apart.
They believe military trauma shouldn’t destroy the lives of veterans and their families. For over a century, they’ve helped former servicemen and women with mental health problems such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety and depression.
