why we are cycling for veterans' mental health
Across the UK, veterans are living with the psychological impact of their military service. Many face daily battles with PTSD that can affect their relationships, work and wellbeing. Often they are struggling in silence, unsure where to turn. When you take part in Cycle September or sponsor someone who does, you’re helping veterans get life-changing mental health support.
Your fundraising helps to provide:
- Round-the-clock support from our 24-hour Helpline.
- Specialist treatment delivered by our own expert clinicians, enabling a veteran to recover and start living again.
- Peer support to bring veterans together to share experiences, reduce isolation and rebuild confidence.
- Groundbreaking research into PTSD and related mental health conditions, improving treatment now and in the future.
Every kilometer you complete, and every pound you raise, helps veterans get the treatment they need to move forward with their lives.
THE IMPACT OF YOUR FUNDRAISING
£24
could pay for a veteran to attend a Peer Support group meeting where they can receive support and understanding from others who’ve walked a similar path.
£75
could give a veteran’s family access to our Family Support Service, helping them understand mental health symptoms, the treatment their loved one is receiving from us, and how they can best support their recovery.
£90
£145
could pay for a veteran to have an appointment with a psychological therapist, helping them process and make sense of their trauma to support their recovery.
