Please support my D-Day 80th Anniversary Challenge

In honour of our forefathers as well as current servicemen who have bravely fought to protect our way of life. I will be taking on the D-Day 44 Challenge to raise vital funds for life-changing mental health treatment for veterans.

The D-Day 44 Challenge commemorates the 1944 Allied invasion of occupied France. I will be heading to Normandy, to walk 22 miles along its picturesque Gold, Juno & Sword beaches, finishing at the historic Pegasus Bridge on the 80th anniversary of D-Day, Thursday 6th June 2024. I am also honoured to be following in the Giant footsteps left by a dear friend of mine, Alex McDonald (1918-2014), T/104038 Driver 508 Coy RASC aged 25, who embarked on one of the biggest land invasions in history as part of the British Landing Force. Already a veteran of Dunkirk, North Africa, Sicily and Italy, he came ashore on Gold Beach 6th June 1944 and fought on with his comrades.

Combat Stress is the UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health. For over a century, they've helped former servicemen and women deal with issues like trauma, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Today, they provide support to veterans from every service and every conflict.

I’m taking on this D-Day 44 Challenge to help take vital strides towards ensuring veterans can get the support they need.

Thank you so much for your support, wish me luck !

Jim
