Aaaand...we're OFF!Gearing up
It's September. It's wet and soft underfoot in the Shire. I have obtained a decent burgan and some new footwear. The last few days have been spent splashing around in puddles around what my old mentor, Davie from B sqn 22, would call "light Pilgrimage" it would be remiss of me not to remind you all that my lungs didn't make it through Covid19. As such, I am re designing my old regimine to take that into account. In a nutshell, I need longer rests and that means things take longer, but I have a gym instructor on my case who you will no doubt meet as we progress. As for my Dog - Dixie, she will provide an interesting element to this challenge. She's a rescue and she is a damned good mate, but she's scared of her own shadow. I imagine I am going to be carrying her for parts of the trail! It starts with the safety off soon. Watch this space. Thanks for reading.I'm taking part in the Combat Stress Waggy Trails Challenge!
This year I'll be taking on Waggy Trails to raise vital funds for life-changing mental health treatment for veterans.
Combat Stress is the UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health. For over a century, they've helped former servicemen and women deal with issues like trauma, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Today, they provide support to veterans from every service and every conflict.
I’m taking vital steps towards ensuring veterans can get the support they need.
Thank you so much for your support.
