Support my D-Day Challenge

On the 6th of June I will be running the 44 mile D-Day Challenge to raise vital funds for life-changing/saving mental health treatment for veterans.
As many of you will know I served in the Royal Navy for 21 years but less people will be aware I was medically discharged due to mental health issues I experienced from my time serving.
A large part of the management of my mental health is centred around running, so it seems appropriate to raise funds for an armed forces MH charity at the same time.
Both my grandads served during WW2, my grandad Norman served in the RAF and my grandad Tom the Royal Navy. This played a big role in my decision to join the Royal Navy. Tom served on landing craft during WW2 and landed at both Normandy and Sicily. This made the D-Day challenge the obvious choice when deciding what event to undertake. It will give me the opportunity to pay my respects, on behalf of my grandad, for those people who never made it off the beaches.
The D-Day 44 Challenge commemorates the 1944 Allied invasion of occupied France. I will be heading to Normandy, to race across its picturesque beaches, finishing at the historic Pegasus Bridge on the anniversary of D-Day, 6 June 2025.
Combat Stress is the UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health. For over a century, they've helped former servicemen and women deal with issues like trauma, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Today, they provide support to veterans from every service and every conflict.
I’m taking on D-Day Challenge to help take vital strides towards ensuring veterans can get the support they need.
Thank you so much for your support.
