Day Twenty Eight

This was my final Waggy Trails walk today. The dogs are in Doggy Hotel this afternoon until Sunday afternoon.
I can honestly say I am overwhelmed by the generosity of my friends and family. I can't thank you all enough.
Anyway, enough of that. It was a very frosty one out there and we speed marched around this morning. Well I speed marched, Cai opened his little legs a bit faster, and Melyn, well Melyn just does he's own very special Melyn thing! Needless to say, I'm eating my breakfast in peace this morning as they're both out cold.

Day Twenty Seven

Another early one, not so frosty this morning, apart from the attitude that Melyn was showing me, he really doesn't like getting out of his bed in the mornings.

Day Twenty Six

Quite a chilly walk this morning. Melyn is pleased to be home and is already back in bed. Cai on the other hand is running around the back garden chasing nothing,

Day Twenty Five

At last, the winds have dropped, the water levels are now walkable.
Only a short one, but it's long enough to make Melyn go flat out as soon as we get back in!

Day Twenty Four

Still not stepping outside, the dogs will get blown away!

Day Twenty Three

I ain't going out there today, I'm not a duck and I haven't got my armbands

Day Twenty Two

Still away

Day Twenty One

I'm still away, so no still no more walks

Day Twenty

I'm away today, so no dog walks. Sorry all

Day Nineteen

We took a snow day today, but the salt on the roads doesn't agree with the pads on the dogs paws.  Also I wouldn't want to walk in thr snow barefoot, I don't the dogs would, well Melyn wouldn't anyway!

Day Eighteen

That's the 30 miles done. Wet and cold this morning. Both dogs have are now tucked up in their beds.

Day Seventeen

It's a rest day for me and the dogs today. My bum cheek is still sore. At my age I better rest it, plus the wife told me to

Day Sixteen

I was hoping to hit the 30 miles today but started to struggle with my gluteus maximus (Arse cheek to normal people) Bit of rest today and I'll drag it out tomorrow morning to hit the target.

Day Fifteen

Cold and drizzley this morning. 5km in fifty minutes, Would've been quicker but had two poo stops, and that was just me 🤣 Think we went quicker as Melyn just wanted to get home as he was cold wet and tired, needless to say he is out cold already.

Day Fourteen

Short walk this morning, but one of the dogs, not naming names, but it would've been Cai, had done a dirty protest. Think he thought if I clean it, we won't go out. But Jo said she'd happily stay behind and clean up.

Day Thirteen

Another three miles under our belt this morning. It was a cold one, hat and gloves were in order, and that was just for the dogs! Full set of thermals, hat, scarf and gloves for me!

Day Twelve

Managed to drag myself out of bed this morning. Got down stairs and Melyn was pretending to be dead, don't think he wanted go. When I got outside, I know why he didn't want to go, it was bloody freezing.

Day Eleven

No walk this morning, feeling rough as. The dogs weren't to bothered though, they enjoyed their lay in.

Day Ten

Just a short walk this morning. Melyn is still tired from yesterday's. Plus it's the Remembrance Parade later today, so I can't be having my back giving me grief.

Lest We Forget

Day Nine

Nice long walk today. Used some Olbas Oil to loosen my chest (other vapour rubs are available)
Melyn is now out cold on the floor. I think that's the furthest he's walked!

Day Eight

Unfortunately there was no walk today.  I am feeling too rough, sorry everyone.

Day Seven

Another tough one, dragging my self out of bed full of, now what has developed into man flu! Cai was pleased to see me, Melyn on the other hand was upside down  playing dead in his bed!

Day Six

Tough one this morning. Sore throat and snotty nose. Won't stop us though!

Day Five

Little three miles today. Slowly creeping towards the target.

Day Four

A little run/walk today. Mainly to blast the weekend out of my system.

Day Three

It was a daylight walk today, so we made most of the dry fields.
Cai and Melyn are now both out cold. They did slightly further than what we walked 😂

Day Two

Another short one, got to take it easy on the poor dogs. Melyn isn't happy getting dragged out of his head at 6am.

Day One

Only a short walk this morning, but it's a start. Plenty more to go!

I'm taking part in the Combat Stress Waggy Trails Challenge!

This year I'll be taking on Waggy Trails to raise vital funds for life-changing mental health treatment for veterans.

Combat Stress is the UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health. For over a century, they've helped former servicemen and women deal with issues like trauma, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Today, they provide support to veterans from every service and every conflict.

I’m taking vital steps towards ensuring veterans can get the support they need.

Thank you so much for your support.
