Who can host a Brew + Bake

Anyone! Whether you're hosting on your own, with friends, at work, at school or in your local community, we'd love you to get involved. However you choose to Brew + Bake, you'll be helping veterans recover through specialist mental health treatment and support.

How do I sign up?

Simply register for free and we'll send you a Brew + Bake Fundraising Pack in the post, along with your own online fundraising page so you can start collecting donations straight away.

When should I host my Brew + Bake

The official Brew and Bake date is Saturday 10 October 2026, World Mental Health Day, but you can host your event whenever works best for you.

Where can I host my Brew + Bake

Anywhere! Host your event at home, in your workplace, at school, in your local community or even online. However you choose to get together, every donation helps veterans recover.

Is there a fundraising target?

There's no minimum fundraising target. Whether you raise £50 or £500, every donation helps Combat Stress provide life-changing, evidence-based treatment and support to veterans.

What support will I receive?

We'll be with you every step of the way. Along with your free Brew + Bake Fundraising Pack, you'll have access to downloadable resources, fundraising tips and a friendly team who are always happy to help if you have any questions.

How can I raise more money?

The more people you invite, the bigger your impact.

Share your event on social media, create a Facebook event, put up posters in your workplace or local community, and ask friends and family to spread the word too. Don't forget to tell people why you're supporting Combat Stress – personal stories often inspire the greatest generosity.

On the day, make donating as easy as possible by displaying your fundraising page QR code or collection box somewhere everyone can see it.

Can I create a Facebook Fundraiser?

Yes. When you register, you'll automatically receive a Combat Stress fundraising page. From there, you can create a Facebook Fundraiser with just a few clicks and invite your friends to support you.

Can I fundraise somewhere else?

Of course. You're welcome to use another fundraising platform if you prefer. Simply share the link with your supporters so they can donate easily.

What can I serve?

Anything your guests will enjoy! Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and delicious homemade or shop-bought bakes all work brilliantly.

If you're serving food, remember to clearly label any allergens. For the latest food safety guidance, please visit the Food Standards Agency.

What activities could I include?

Want to make your Brew + Bake even more memorable? Here are a few popular ideas:

  • Hold a mini Bake Off competition.
  • Organise a raffle or tombola.
  • Play "Guess the number of coffee beans".
  • Try a blind coffee taste test.
  • Award prizes for the best cake or best decorated table.

A little friendly competition is a great way to boost donations.



Do I need a licence ?

Most Brew + Bake events won't need one, but if you're planning something like selling alcohol, you may need a licence. It's always worth checking before your event. If you are unsure give us a call 01372 587 140

Are there any fundraising rules I need to follow?

Yes. We want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable event. Please read our 'Keeping it Safe and Legal' guidance before your Brew + Bake.

How do I pay in the money I raise?

We recommend that you raise funds directly to your fundraising page. This will automatically come to Combat Stress and also place you onto the leaderboard. Any cash donations, you can pay them onto your fundraising page by self donation. Alternatively you can:

Bank Transfer – you can pay your money directly into the Combat Stress bank account: NatWest, Account Number 00100013, Sort Code 60-00-01. Please quote your name as a reference and if possible email us. 

By Post – Please make cheques payable to Combat Stress and send it to us at Combat Stress, Tyrwhitt House, Oaklawn Road, Leatherhead, Surrey KT22 0BX. Please include your name and event as reference.

By Phone – Call 01372 587 151 to make a payment using your credit or debit card. To help us process your contribution as quickly and efficiently as possible, please provide your name, contact details and event when paying money in.
