My target 100 mi
Nearly there!
At the start of May, I signed up to complete 100 miles in support of Combat Stress, the UK’s leading charity for veterans’ mental health.
Today I reached 92 miles.
The miles have come from daily dog walks, making the effort to get out each day whatever the weather, and also completing the full Walk the Wight on 10 May. Taking on the island’s biggest walking event was a real highlight of the challenge and helped push the mileage on significantly.
Like many veterans, I know the importance of keeping moving, both physically and mentally, and this challenge has been a good reminder of that.
So far I’ve raised £20 towards my £50 target. I know that may not sound like a huge amount, but I’m genuinely grateful to everyone who has donated. I’m also very aware that many people already sponsored me earlier this year when I completed March in March for the same charity, and I completely understand that times are difficult for many people at the moment.
For me, this challenge has never just been about the money. It’s about continuing to raise awareness of the work Combat Stress does to support veterans struggling with mental health issues, PTSD, anxiety and depression. Their support changes lives.
With only 8 miles left to complete, I’m determined to finish strongly before the end of the month.
If anybody would still like to support the challenge, even with a small donation, it would be hugely appreciated. Equally, a simple share or message of encouragement means a lot too.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far.
I'm taking on 100 Miles in May for Combat Stress
This year I'm taking on 100 Miles in May to raise vital funds for life-changing mental health treatment for veterans.
Combat Stress is the UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health. For over a century, they've helped former servicemen and women deal with issues like trauma, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Today, they provide support to veterans from every service and every conflict.
I’m taking vital steps towards ensuring veterans can get the support they need.
Thank you so much for your support.
