Unpredictable Weather

Rain, wind, sun, then back to rain and wind again. I nearly called it quits after getting absolutely drenched, but the sun eventually made an appearance and gave me the perfect opportunity to get back out there and add a few more miles to the total.

Day 3

After a rainy day, the evening turned out to be surprisingly sunny and pleasant. My teenage daughter and I headed out for a brisk walk, putting the world to rights as we went, and before we knew it, we'd clocked up 7 miles. A lovely way to add to the challenge and spend some quality time together.

Day 1

The challenge is underway, although the weather clearly didn't get the memo. I started today in less-than-ideal conditions, with plenty of rain, strong winds, and by the end of it I was soaked to the bone. Still, that's 6 miles added to the tally and a good start to the month.

Hiking for a Good Cause

Starting this weekend, I'll be putting on my hiking boots and aiming to cover as many miles as possible in support of Combat Stress through the Boots on the Ground fundraising challenge.
Working for BAE Systems, I've seen how important it is to support the Armed Forces community. I've also worked alongside people who have experienced the challenges that can come with military service, making this a cause that feels close to home. BAE Systems is proud to support initiatives that help veterans and their families, and I'm pleased to be doing my small part.
Throughout June, I'll be getting out on the trails and logging as many miles as I can to raise awareness and funds for the incredible work Combat Stress does in supporting veterans' mental health.
If you'd like to support this fantastic cause, please consider making a donation or sharing my fundraising page. Every contribution helps make a difference.

I'll keep you updated on the miles, the blisters, and weather my legs still work by the end of the month. If you see me walking in circles at the end of June, please point me at the right direction. Otherwise, catch me if you can, but preferably with a donation! :) Thank you for your support.
