My target 100 mi
No backing out now
So, I have decided to take part in the Combat Stress 100 miles in May, I am stepping in literally for my father-in-law the walking warrior, LinkedIn legend Alan Mackelworth who is unable to complete the challenge he so readily has completed in years gone by.
I start the challenge completely unfit for the task; my legs were hurting 0.2 miles into my first training walk which I think is a bad sign. I did buy new shoes in response, but I feel I'm now in the category of all the gear and no idea, a phrase uttered throughout my sporting career.
I will provide updates on my struggles throughout this journey, please follow along, suggest walking routes, laugh at my self-inflicted pain and if you can donate to a great charity.
I'm taking on 100 Miles in May for Combat Stress
This year I'm taking on 100 Miles in May to raise vital funds for life-changing mental health treatment for veterans.
Combat Stress is the UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health. For over a century, they've helped former servicemen and women deal with issues like trauma, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Today, they provide support to veterans from every service and every conflict.
I’m taking vital steps towards ensuring veterans can get the support they need.
Thank you so much for your support.
